Big Bass Boat
Big Bass Boat surprised me. On paper it's a simple thing — you pilot a little fishing boat across a lake, dodging buoys and reeds while the current keeps nudging you around. But the steering has real weight to it, and once you learn how the boat drifts through turns, it clicks in a very satisfying way.
Control is all one-thumb: tap and hold either side of the screen to lean into a turn, let go to straighten out. There's a gentle momentum system, so cutting a corner too hard sends you skidding across the surface. The lakes open up as you go, adding narrow channels and moving obstacles that force you to plan a line rather than just react.
What I liked most is how relaxed it stays even when it gets tricky. The water shimmers, the engine hums, and there's no clutter on screen shouting at you. It's the kind of game you pick up for one run and put down twenty minutes later without noticing. A few of the later stages felt repetitive, but the core loop held up all week.
